Tonight's game is being televised on ESPN2 as part of rivalry week. My first reaction after hearing about this a long time ago was "Since when are Butler and Valpo rivals?" This is the first year Valpo is in the Horizon League; however, Butler and Valpo have been in the same football conference. This does have potential to be a rivalry now that Butler plays Valpo in basketball and football every year due to conference affiliations and how geographically close the sh schools are.

FYI, Valpo has played Butler more than any other school in our team's history. That is why we are considered rivals. And this rivalry is sure to continue to heat up as we move forward. There are only 5 teams that you guys have played more than Valpo in your history. Those 5 teams are Indiana State (122 Games), Wabash (119), Evansville (112), Notre Dame(102), and Ball State (98). You have now played Valpo 94 times including the two meetings this year.
